Wednesday, June 19, 2024, the Mayor Sergiu ARMAȘU, held an official meeting with His Excellency Mr. Pavol IVAN, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to the Republic of Moldova. This meeting marked the successful collaboration developed over the recent years in occasion of the inauguration of the first 20 kW photovoltaic system partially cover the energy needs of a public building in Ialoveni.

The project "Ensuring energy autonomy of kindergarten no.3 'Lăstărel' through photovoltaic system installation" with a total budget of EUR 20 000, was co-funded 50% from the local budget and 50% by the Embassy of the Slovak Republic through the SlovakAid program.

The project aims to reduce energy costs and promote the use of renewable energy in Ialoveni, and decarbonization measures according to the provisions of the SECAP 2016-2030. The early childhood education institution "Lăstărel" thus becomes a model of best practice in enhancing improved energy resilience through the use of renewable energy,contributing to a healthier environment in the city of Ialoveni.

During the visit, His Excellency Ambassador Pavol IVAN highly appreciated the fruitful collaboration with the Ialoveni City administration and emphasized the importance of deepening international cooperation through such partnerships. His Excellency also reiterated the readiness and support for
upcoming initiatives and mutual support toward jointly achieving the sustainable development goals.
